Take the Sting Out of Yellow and Black

My new favorite Spring color combination is the delightful, modern and crisp color palette of
Yellow & Black.

Black & White bring the sophistication, but by adding a pop of yellow, you bring a cheerful warmth to the palette too. Perfect for a Spring wedding or dinner party.

The Hair Rasing Question

Up or Down?

Many steps go into planning your wedding and one of them is your hair style. When choosing a hairstyle, there are several things to take into consideration: Are you doing an indoor or outdoor ceremony? Are you planning on wearing a veil or flowers in your hair? What kind of climate/time of year are you getting married in?

Outdoor events tend to be a little more casual and relaxed and it might be a better choice to go with a loose flowing style, than a stiff and formal up do.

If you plan to wear a veil or flowers, be sure the style you choose compliments your accessories. Although you may prefer your hair down, consider how it will hold up throughout the night and maybe opt for a half-up/half-down look or a loose chignon (as seen on Michelle Trachenberg).

Whether you chose a professional stylist or someone you know to do your hair, the best advice we can give you is to do a practice session. You won't regret the minimal amount of additional money and time spent to assure that your hairstyle is exactly what you envisioned. Bring a photo of the hair style you desire to your stylist and h
ave someone take a picture of your hairstyle complete with accessories. It will be just the evidence you need to make your decision.

Faux Flowers

Whether you need a bouquet, cake topper or centerpieces, using crepe paper will add that special “WOW” factor on any budget! Get your grandmothers old plastic flowers out of your head…this is a modern approach from a traditional idea!
Each flower can express your personal style and taste. Think of all the possibilities one can do. Change any flower color and size. That would be pretty impossible asking a florist to do that for your bouquet!
Wanting your dream wedding can come with a cost, and by creating your own paper flowers not only is it affordable but your flowers will look luminous and magical. Beautiful, easy and affordable! Check out Martha Stewart Weddings for the detailed information.

A Modern St. Patrick's Day Party

Embrace Ireland's history and throw an innovative dinner party celebrating Saint Patrick in the most modern way. Before you hit the stores to buy whatever is green or clover shaped - consider these natural and simple decorating ideas.

Dress up your dinner party using inspiration from nature. Use that moss lying around in the garden and turn it into an eye-catching centerpiece accented with rocks or paper butterflies. Use slender spike leaves or blades of grass to wrap your dinner napkins in. Green fruits and other greenery also add an appealing look to your table setting. And of course, four leaf clovers - if you're lucky enough to find them - are the perfect compliment to a St. Patrick's Day dinner celebration.

Tabletop photos from here, here, here and here.

After dressing up your table for your guests don't forget to unwind, indulge, and wrap up your dinner party with these Irish inspired cocktails and dessert ideas.
