Sailing Off Into the Sunset, Part Three

Here are some final shots from Jim and Leanne's adventuresome Kaua'i wedding reception on a privately chartered Southern Star yacht.

After an intimate ceremony on the secluded North Shore Moloa'a beach, the couple and their guests climbed aboard and set sail up the Na Pali Coast to celebrate. The newlyweds and their intrepid crew were treated to a gourmet four course meal, dolphin sightings, and a gorgeous sunset, ending their journey with a plunge into the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific, with the bride and groom still in their wedding attire!

It was an incredible celebration, and beautifully captured by a very talented photographer - the groom's mother! We wish all the best to this fun loving couple as they embark on their next big adventure together.

Colorful and Carefree

Here are some photos from Adrian and Caitlin's vibrant and joyful wedding by photographer Michael Delmonte. The couple were married at the Kualoa Rach at Paliku Gardens, and the event was as colorful as its tropical backdrop!

A sunny color palette of yellow and white set the tone for this cheery ceremony, and festive personal touches added to the unique charm of the event. The bride's bouquet featured her grandmother's handkerchief tucked between the blooms, and guests were treated to favors of homemade jam with custom labels. Rather than a guestbook, the couple provided fabric squares to be sewn into a quilt, and a live mariachi band kept the party going in the night.

Congratulations to the newlyweds on their marriage and on this beautiful wedding!

Over Orange?

Why not forego the usual Halloween color scheme this year in favor of something a tad more subtle, though no less spooky. Here are some ideas from around the web for an eerily elegant party in white and black:

Who says pumpkins need carving? White paint and black ink make for a sophisticated and sinister centerpiece from designer Elizabeth Demos' profile this week on Design*Sponge.

As always, Etsy is chock full of ideas for DIY entertaining, including these printable labels to add a creepy touch to your cocktail menu.

If the full moon doesn't provide enough illumination, over at Create My Event, old coffee cans are painted black and punched full of holes to make candle holders. For a final spine-tingling touch from craft blog Tatertots and Jello, scatter these beaded spiders across your table and watch your guests squeal - with delight, of course!

To finish with something something sweet, check out the amazing recipe blog smitten kitchen for these gorgeous pumpkin cupcakes with maple cream cheese frosting.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

What to Wear to a Beach Wedding

Blaine Ashley, one of Oahu's premier stylists and a noted fashion expert, recently offered her advice to this question on Glamour Magazine's blog.

"Although trade winds or rain can change your planned look in an instant, there are a few options that are always safe like mid-length to long, floaty dresses... Also opt for a beachy tousseled waves or loose up do. Certainly use a beach wedding for a chance to wear bright colors: Turquoise, Yellow, & Coral radiate vibrance..." Rustic Romance Part 2

Here are some more stunning pictures of Starr and Eli's lovely Kauai wedding at the Na'aina Kai Botanical Gardens. Martin Roberts provided the rustic and elegant decor for the ceremony, creating an atmosphere that was perfectly suited to the romance and natural beauty of the location. Guests enjoyed creative touches including a lounge area and a drinks station dispensing shave ice with vodka.

The wedding concluded with a gorgeous sunset, perfectly captured by the talented Shawn Starr. We are delighted with this gorgeous event and wish the couple all the best in their new life together.
